Id heard nothing about grace and fury, not seen a photo or any hype, but it was the book last month in Fairyloots Rebels in Ballgowns edition, and lets be honest they never steer us wrong. Whats more it was an early release as the book isn’t officially out til the end of the month.
Lets start with the book sleeve. Its just 
beautiful. The photo on the front reminds me of Blair Waldorf (any gossip girl fans out there?) and then the first sentence you read in the book is motivating:
For every woman who has been told to sit down and be quiet.. and who has stood up anyway
I knew this book was going to be for me from that moment!
This is the story of sisters Serina and Nomi. ( I ‘ll admit I had to keep correcting myself as I was reading it as Naomi) Serina has been brought up to become a Grace. A lady chosen by those in charge to pander to their every whim, and thats an honour. Nomi disagrees, shes rebellious and has even learnt to read, in a world where such a thing is forbidden.
When Serena gets given the opportunity to become one of the chosen Graces she cant wait, but Nomi isnt keen, and cant control her wild side. Things dont turn out how they expect and Nomi learns trusting the right person can be difficult, and Serena finds out exactly how strong she cant be.
This is a story of submission and power, that is begging for rebellion. Its brilliant. You can picture places as if they were real, Mount Ruin could easily be a volcanic island we see on the news. The girls have to learn to find their way and discover their inner strength, so much happens in the moment, but loooking back it sounds so simple in my head.
Its a brilliant read to keep you company on the train, by the pool or just in the garden whilst we enjoy the continuing summer weather.
