Having just finished a reread of the first two Crescent City Books I’m patiently sat by the door waiting for the third to be delivered; Yes I am hoping that postie is replaced by an Otter for this very occasion. Wouldn’t that have been a great piece of marketing ( Pay attention Bloomsbury!) to have your book delivered by someone dressed up as an otter or for the book to be packed with one in such a way it gave that impression. Its amazing what the brain starts to think about when you are waiting for something.
I’m expecting my book to arrive on the morning of the 30th, however that looks like the days its being dispatched so I might just end up with the ebook aswell. But in the meantime, following my reread here’s an overview.
Danika, the great Wolf and Heir to the Fendyr line is most definitely dead. She was killed by Micah who was being puppeted by the Asteri. Luckily we don’t have to worry about Micah, Bryce killed him and vacuumed up the pieces.
Celestina is too nice, she’s in an arranged married with another archangel but is in a secret relationship with Hypaxia. She’s obviously playing both sides because she outed Bryce and Hunt to the Asteri.
Hypaxia has been promised to Ruhn (who is clearly trying to avoid the fact that he wants her sister now he knows who she is. ) Shes an unpopular coven leader and has necromancer magic.
Ethan has found another heir to the Fendyr line. Hopefully this plays out and he takes his rightful place in the pack even though the wolf is currently a mystic and has no idea who or what she is.
Tharion has pledged his merlife to the viper queen to escape the river queen after dumping her daughter. Hes currently running for his life and his fins back to water.
Ruhn and Hunt have been captured and are being tortured. Hunts power has been bound and they look to have run out of luck.
Bryce – has learnt to teleport and has done so to another world. She was looking for Hell but found herself in what we presume is the world of ‘a Court of’. The knife held by Rhys is linked to the star sword and it seems like the cross over we’ve been glimpsing / waiting for is finally here.
We now also have 3 fire sprites and a dragon in the mix along with the brother of a thunderbird, more Danika secrets and the knowledge on how to kill the Asteri.
Lets not kid ourselves. There is so much more that I haven’t captured, that need to be added but theres a lot of people on Facebook pulling together some easy to read graphics that are way better than anything I could do. I’d recommend having a look and seeing what you need to jog your memory. All of these come with the obvious caveat, we don’t know for sure what stories, snippets and clues form previous books will be important. I wish Id planned well enough to reread all of the books but Im pretty sure that this is going to be an epic journey that we go on.
I haven’t created a bingo card of things like I’ve seen many people do but There are things I would like to happen.
- Bryce and Hunt to carry on as a happy couple and obviously save the day
- Ethan to become an Alpha
- Tharion to be fully free of the river queen
- Ruhn and Lydia to make a go of it in the real world
- More otters to deliver post
- To find out what Jessiba really is, and her back story. Although Id be happy if this was a standalone novella!
- Juniper to forgive Bryce
- The Autumn King to Die (it’s a SJM book so we know big characters can be killed but if its not the AK maybe Sabine with the other heir taking over), but protecting Bryce and Ruhn so he finally makes things right
